My life span is gone, Taken from me like a shepherd’s tent; I have cut off my life like a weaver. He cuts me off from the loom; From day until night You make an end of me.

For I said in my haste, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; Nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications When I cried out to You.

“My spirit is broken, My days are extinguished, The grave is ready for me.

He comes forth like a flower and fades away; He flees like a shadow and does not continue.

That it would please God to crush me, That He would loose His hand and cut me off!

They are broken in pieces from morning till evening; They perish forever, with no one regarding.

You carry them away like a flood; They are like a sleep. In the morning they are like grass which grows up:
