Now therefore, do not be mockers, Lest your bonds be made strong; For I have heard from the Lord God of hosts, A destruction determined even upon the whole earth.

So the runners passed from city to city through the country of Ephraim and Manasseh, as far as Zebulun; but they laughed at them and mocked them.

Therefore the Lord brought upon them the captains of the army of the king of Assyria, who took Manasseh with hooks, bound him with bronze fetters, and carried him off to Babylon.

But they mocked the messengers of God, despised His words, and scoffed at His prophets, until the wrath of the Lord arose against His people, till there was no remedy.

For He has broken the gates of bronze, And cut the bars of iron in two.

Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, “Go, sacrifice to your God in the land.”

Judgments are prepared for scoffers, And beatings for the backs of fools.

Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Lord has performed all His work on Mount Zion and on Jerusalem, that He will say, “I will punish the fruit of the arrogant heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his haughty looks.”

Give ear and hear my voice, Listen and hear my speech.

I did not sit in the assembly of the mockers, Nor did I rejoice; I sat alone because of Your hand, For You have filled me with indignation.

O Lord, You induced me, and I was persuaded; You are stronger than I, and have prevailed. I am in derision daily; Everyone mocks me.

And this whole land shall be a desolation and an astonishment, and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.

And it happened, when Jehudi had read three or four columns, that the king cut it with the scribe’s knife and cast it into the fire that was on the hearth, until all the scroll was consumed in the fire that was on the hearth.

Moreover he put out Zedekiah’s eyes, and bound him with bronze fetters to carry him off to Babylon.

“The yoke of my transgressions was bound; They were woven together by His hands, And thrust upon my neck. He made my strength fail; The Lord delivered me into the hands of those whom I am not able to withstand.

Can your heart endure, or can your hands remain strong, in the days when I shall deal with you? I, the Lord, have spoken, and will do it.

What do you conspire against the Lord? He will make an utter end of it. Affliction will not rise up a second time.

And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads

Even the robbers who were crucified with Him reviled Him with the same thing.

And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

And when they heard of the resurrection of the dead, some mocked, while others said, “We will hear you again on this matter.”
