Then the Philistines gathered together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots and six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude. And they came up and encamped in Michmash, to the east of Beth Aven.

And Saul was sitting in the outskirts of Gibeah under a pomegranate tree which is in Migron. The people who were with him were about six hundred men.

Now they had driven back the Philistines that day from Michmash to Aijalon. So the people were very faint.

The front of one faced northward opposite Michmash, and the other southward opposite Gibeah.

And David left his supplies in the hand of the supply keeper, ran to the army, and came and greeted his brothers.
