Now therefore, thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!

And Pharaoh turned and went into his house. Neither was his heart moved by this.

But he who did not regard the word of the Lord left his servants and his livestock in the field.

Let us search out and examine our ways, And turn back to the Lord;

Because he considers and turns away from all the transgressions which he committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die.

And the man said to me, “Son of man, look with your eyes and hear with your ears, and fix your mind on everything I show you; for you were brought here so that I might show them to you. Declare to the house of Israel everything you see.”

Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words.

And the king, when he heard these words, was greatly displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him; and he labored till the going down of the sun to deliver him.

“Is it time for you yourselves to dwell in your paneled houses, and this temple to lie in ruins?”

“You have sown much, and bring in little; You eat, but do not have enough; You drink, but you are not filled with drink; You clothe yourselves, but no one is warm; And he who earns wages, Earns wages to put into a bag with holes.”

Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Consider your ways!

“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of my father’s hired servants have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

But let each one examine his own work, and then he will have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.
