You are filled with shame instead of glory. You also—drink! And be exposed as uncircumcised! The cup of the Lord’s right hand will be turned against you, And utter shame will be on your glory.

Babylon was a golden cup in the Lord’s hand, That made all the earth drunk. The nations drank her wine; Therefore the nations are deranged.

Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, You who dwell in the land of Uz! The cup shall also pass over to you And you shall become drunk and make yourself naked.

You will be filled with drunkenness and sorrow, The cup of horror and desolation, The cup of your sister Samaria.

“The more they increased, The more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory into shame.

“Woe to him who gives drink to his neighbor, Pressing him to your bottle, Even to make him drunk, That you may look on his nakedness!

whose end is destruction, whose god is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame—who set their mind on earthly things.

Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.
