And their father Israel said to them, “If it must be so, then do this: Take some of the best fruits of the land in your vessels and carry down a present for the man—a little balm and a little honey, spices and myrrh, pistachio nuts and almonds.

Is there no balm in Gilead, Is there no physician there? Why then is there no recovery For the health of the daughter of my people?

The men of Dedan were your traders; many isles were the market of your hand. They brought you ivory tusks and ebony as payment.

Judah and the land of Israel were your traders. They traded for your merchandise wheat of Minnith, millet, honey, oil, and balm.

The merchants of Sheba and Raamah were your merchants. They traded for your wares the choicest spices, all kinds of precious stones, and gold.

But I have said to you, “You shall inherit their land, and I will give it to you to possess, a land flowing with milk and honey.” I am the Lord your God, who has separated you from the peoples.

So when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, “The will of the Lord be done.”

With the precious fruits of the sun, With the precious produce of the months,

And now this present which your maidservant has brought to my lord, let it be given to the young men who follow my lord.

Then Saul said to his servant, “But look, if we go, what shall we bring the man? For the bread in our vessels is all gone, and there is no present to bring to the man of God. What do we have?”
