Then Esau said, “What do you mean by all this company which I met?” And he said, “These are to find favor in the sight of my lord.”

Then Shechem said to her father and her brothers, “Let me find favor in your eyes, and whatever you say to me I will give.

So they said, “You have saved our lives; let us find favor in the sight of my lord, and we will be Pharaoh’s servants.”

It will be as though a man fled from a lion, And a bear met him! Or as though he went into the house, Leaned his hand on the wall, And a serpent bit him!

Then she said, “Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for you have comforted me, and have spoken kindly to your maidservant, though I am not like one of your maidservants.”

So Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, “Please let me go to the field, and glean heads of grain after him in whose sight I may find favor.” And she said to her, “Go, my daughter.”

And she said, “Let your maidservant find favor in your sight.” So the woman went her way and ate, and her face was no longer sad.
