And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.

Now Jacob cooked a stew; and Esau came in from the field, and he was weary.

Then Jacob said, “Swear to me as of this day.” So he swore to him, and sold his birthright to Jacob.

And the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter”—that princely price they set on me. So I took the thirty pieces of silver and threw them into the house of the Lord for the potter.

But they made light of it and went their ways, one to his own farm, another to his business.

and said, “What are you willing to give me if I deliver Him to you?” And they counted out to him thirty pieces of silver.

‘Behold, you despisers, Marvel and perish! For I work a work in your days, A work which you will by no means believe, Though one were to declare it to you.’ ”

If, in the manner of men, I have fought with beasts at Ephesus, what advantage is it to me? If the dead do not rise, “Let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die!”
