The enemy said, ‘I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; My desire shall be satisfied on them. I will draw my sword, My hand shall destroy them.’

Then Jezebel sent a messenger to Elijah, saying, “So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I do not make your life as the life of one of them by tomorrow about this time.”

So David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all.”

“I have pursued my enemies and destroyed them; Neither did I turn back again till they were destroyed.

Better to be of a humble spirit with the lowly, Than to divide the spoil with the proud.

They cried there, ‘Pharaoh, king of Egypt, is but a noise. He has passed by the appointed time!’
