Then he said, “Look, it is still high day; it is not time for the cattle to be gathered together. Water the sheep, and go and feed them.”

They shall not be ashamed in the evil time, And in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

Give a serving to seven, and also to eight, For you do not know what evil will be on the earth.

Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, Before the difficult days come, And the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them”:

Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might; for there is no work or device or knowledge or wisdom in the grave where you are going.

The king answered and said, “I know for certain that you would gain time, because you see that my decision is firm:

Therefore the prudent keep silent at that time, For it is an evil time.

And likewise he who had received two gained two more also.

Then Jesus said to them, “A little while longer the light is with you. Walk while you have the light, lest darkness overtake you; he who walks in darkness does not know where he is going.

And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.

I suppose therefore that this is good because of the present distress—that it is good for a man to remain as he is:

who gave Himself for our sins, that He might deliver us from this present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace;

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.
