Deuteronomy 9:19

New King James Version

For I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure with which the Lord was angry with you, to destroy you. But the Lord listened to me at that time also.

And the Lord was very angry with Aaron and would have destroyed him; so I prayed for Aaron also at the same time.

lest the Lord’s anger be aroused against you, and He shut up the heavens so that there be no rain, and the land yield no produce, and you perish quickly from the good land which the Lord is giving you.

When God heard this, He was furious, And greatly abhorred Israel,

Then the people cried out to Moses, and when Moses prayed to the Lord, the fire was quenched.

They made a calf in Horeb, And worshiped the molded image.
