But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

but that we write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from things strangled, and from blood.

Nevertheless he who stands steadfast in his heart, having no necessity, but has power over his own will, and has so determined in his heart that he will keep his virgin, does well.

So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

Who ate the fat of their sacrifices, And drank the wine of their drink offering? Let them rise and help you, And be your refuge.
