Then Saul arose from the ground, and when his eyes were opened he saw no one. But they led him by the hand and brought him into Damascus.

He divided his forces against them by night, and he and his servants attacked them and pursued them as far as Hobah, which is north of Damascus.

And they struck the men who were at the doorway of the house with blindness, both small and great, so that they became weary trying to find the door.

So the Lord said to him, “Who has made man’s mouth? Or who makes the mute, the deaf, the seeing, or the blind? Have not I, the Lord?

And now, indeed, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you shall be blind, not seeing the sun for a time.” And immediately a dark mist fell on him, and he went around seeking someone to lead him by the hand.

And since I could not see for the glory of that light, being led by the hand of those who were with me, I came into Damascus.

Immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he received his sight at once; and he arose and was baptized.

And he was three days without sight, and neither ate nor drank.

In Damascus the governor, under Aretas the king, was guarding the city of the Damascenes with a garrison, desiring to arrest me;

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to those who were apostles before me; but I went to Arabia, and returned again to Damascus.
