Then an opportune day came when Herod on his birthday gave a feast for his nobles, the high officers, and the chief men of Galilee.

So on a set day Herod, arrayed in royal apparel, sat on his throne and gave an oration to them.

And after some days King Agrippa and Bernice came to Caesarea to greet Festus.

When he had said these things, the king stood up, as well as the governor and Bernice and those who sat with them;

But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is a chosen vessel of Mine to bear My name before Gentiles, kings, and the children of Israel.

and those who use this world as not misusing it. For the form of this world is passing away.

For no sooner has the sun risen with a burning heat than it withers the grass; its flower falls, and its beautiful appearance perishes. So the rich man also will fade away in his pursuits.

because “All flesh is as grass, And all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withers, And its flower falls away,

For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world.
