When these things were accomplished, Paul purposed in the Spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.”

Who is he who speaks and it comes to pass, When the Lord has not commanded it?

and from there to Philippi, which is the foremost city of that part of Macedonia, a colony. And we were staying in that city for some days.

When Gallio was proconsul of Achaia, the Jews with one accord rose up against Paul and brought him to the judgment seat,

but took leave of them, saying, “I must by all means keep this coming feast in Jerusalem; but I will return again to you, God willing.” And he sailed from Ephesus.

So he sent into Macedonia two of those who ministered to him, Timothy and Erastus, but he himself stayed in Asia for a time.

So the whole city was filled with confusion, and rushed into the theater with one accord, having seized Gaius and Aristarchus, Macedonians, Paul’s travel companions.

For Paul had decided to sail past Ephesus, so that he would not have to spend time in Asia; for he was hurrying to be at Jerusalem, if possible, on the Day of Pentecost.

And see, now I go bound in the spirit to Jerusalem, not knowing the things that will happen to me there,

And when we had come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

And finding disciples, we stayed there seven days. They told Paul through the Spirit not to go up to Jerusalem.

But the following night the Lord stood by him and said, “Be of good cheer, Paul; for as you have testified for Me in Jerusalem, so you must also bear witness at Rome.”

And when it was decided that we should sail to Italy, they delivered Paul and some other prisoners to one named Julius, a centurion of the Augustan Regiment.

saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must be brought before Caesar; and indeed God has granted you all those who sail with you.’

Now when we came to Rome, the centurion delivered the prisoners to the captain of the guard; but Paul was permitted to dwell by himself with the soldier who guarded him.

For I long to see you, that I may impart to you some spiritual gift, so that you may be established—

Now I do not want you to be unaware, brethren, that I often planned to come to you (but was hindered until now), that I might have some fruit among you also, just as among the other Gentiles.

So, as much as is in me, I am ready to preach the gospel to you who are in Rome also.

Now I will come to you when I pass through Macedonia (for I am passing through Macedonia).

But I will come to you shortly, if the Lord wills, and I will know, not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power.

to preach the gospel in the regions beyond you, and not to boast in another man’s sphere of accomplishment.

Then after fourteen years I went up again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and also took Titus with me.

so that you became examples to all in Macedonia and Achaia who believe.
