The great court was enclosed with three rows of hewn stones and a row of cedar beams. So were the inner court of the house of the Lord and the vestibule of the temple.

The altars that were on the roof, the upper chamber of Ahaz, which the kings of Judah had made, and the altars which Manasseh had made in the two courts of the house of the Lord, the king broke down and pulverized there, and threw their dust into the Brook Kidron.

And the king commanded Hilkiah the high priest, the priests of the second order, and the doorkeepers, to bring out of the temple of the Lord all the articles that were made for Baal, for Asherah, and for all the host of heaven; and he burned them outside Jerusalem in the fields of Kidron, and carried their ashes to Bethel.

Then he removed the idolatrous priests whom the kings of Judah had ordained to burn incense on the high places in the cities of Judah and in the places all around Jerusalem, and those who burned incense to Baal, to the sun, to the moon, to the constellations, and to all the host of heaven.

And he brought out the wooden image from the house of the Lord, to the Brook Kidron outside Jerusalem, burned it at the Brook Kidron and ground it to ashes, and threw its ashes on the graves of the common people.

He took away the foreign gods and the idol from the house of the Lord, and all the altars that he had built in the mount of the house of the Lord and in Jerusalem; and he cast them out of the city.

And he built altars for all the host of heaven in the two courts of the house of the Lord.

Furthermore he made the court of the priests, and the great court and doors for the court; and he overlaid these doors with bronze.

Then he brought me to the inner court through the southern gateway; he measured the southern gateway according to these same measurements.

And he brought me into the inner court facing east; he measured the gateway according to these same measurements.

Its gateposts faced the outer court, palm trees were on its gateposts on this side and on that side, and going up to it were eight steps.

And he measured the court, one hundred cubits long and one hundred cubits wide, foursquare. The altar was in front of the temple.

Opposite the inner court of twenty cubits, and opposite the pavement of the outer court, was gallery against gallery in three stories.

The Spirit lifted me up and brought me into the inner court; and behold, the glory of the Lord filled the temple.

When they go out to the outer court, to the outer court to the people, they shall take off their garments in which they have ministered, leave them in the holy chambers, and put on other garments; and in their holy garments they shall not sanctify the people.

So He brought me into the inner court of the Lord’s house; and there, at the door of the temple of the Lord, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five men with their backs toward the temple of the Lord and their faces toward the east, and they were worshiping the sun toward the east.
