And he strengthened himself, built up all the wall that was broken, raised it up to the towers, and built another wall outside; also he repaired the Millo in the City of David, and made weapons and shields in abundance.

Then David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the City of David. And David built all around from the Millo and inward.

And this is what caused him to rebel against the king: Solomon had built the Millo and repaired the damages to the City of David his father.

But Pharaoh’s daughter came up from the City of David to her house which Solomon had built for her. Then he built the Millo.

And his servants arose and formed a conspiracy, and killed Joash in the house of the Millo, which goes down to Silla.

Whoever has no rule over his own spirit Is like a city broken down, without walls.

So it was, when Zedekiah the king of Judah and all the men of war saw them, that they fled and went out of the city by night, by way of the king’s garden, by the gate between the two walls. And he went out by way of the plain.

They do not push one another; Every one marches in his own column. Though they lunge between the weapons, They are not cut down.

And all the men of Shechem gathered together, all of Beth Millo, and they went and made Abimelech king beside the terebinth tree at the pillar that was in Shechem.
