So David rested with his fathers, and was buried in the City of David.

He was thirty-two years old when he became king. He reigned in Jerusalem eight years and, to no one’s sorrow, departed. However they buried him in the City of David, but not in the tombs of the kings.

But Jehoiada grew old and was full of days, and he died; he was one hundred and thirty years old when he died.

Now after the death of Jehoiada the leaders of Judah came and bowed down to the king. And the king listened to them.

So King Jehoash called Jehoiada the priest and the other priests, and said to them, “Why have you not repaired the damages of the temple? Now therefore, do not take more money from your constituency, but deliver it for repairing the damages of the temple.”

When his disciples heard of it, they came and took away his corpse and laid it in a tomb.
