But the Lord said to Samuel, “Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

I will kill her children with death, and all the churches shall know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts. And I will give to each one of you according to your works.

“Your words have been harsh against Me,” Says the Lord, “Yet you say, ‘What have we spoken against You?’

TEKEL: You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting;

They have closed up their fat hearts; With their mouths they speak proudly.

Let the lying lips be put to silence, Which speak insolent things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous.

Do not lift up your horn on high; Do not speak with a stiff neck.’ ”

“The Lord God of gods, the Lord God of gods, He knows, and let Israel itself know—if it is in rebellion, or if in treachery against the Lord, do not save us this day.

Then Zebul said to him, “Where indeed is your mouth now, with which you said, ‘Who is Abimelech, that we should serve him?’ Are not these the people whom you despised? Go out, if you will, and fight with them now.”

Thus with your mouth you have boasted against Me and multiplied your words against Me; I have heard them.”
