You know how my father David could not build a house for the name of the Lord his God because of the wars which were fought against him on every side, until the Lord put his foes under the soles of his feet.

But God said to me, ‘You shall not build a house for My name, because you have been a man of war and have shed blood.’

the food on his table, the seating of his servants, the service of his waiters and their apparel, his cupbearers and their apparel, and his entryway by which he went up to the house of the Lord, there was no more spirit in her.

And at my table were one hundred and fifty Jews and rulers, besides those who came to us from the nations around us.

Now that which was prepared daily was one ox and six choice sheep. Also fowl were prepared for me, and once every ten days an abundance of all kinds of wine. Yet in spite of this I did not demand the governor’s provisions, because the bondage was heavy on this people.

The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool.”

You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,

You shall trample the wicked, For they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet On the day that I do this,” Says the Lord of hosts.

For He must reign till He has put all enemies under His feet.

And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church,

the deer, the gazelle, the roe deer, the wild goat, the mountain goat, the antelope, and the mountain sheep.

So it was, when they brought out those kings to Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said to the captains of the men of war who went with him, “Come near, put your feet on the necks of these kings.” And they drew near and put their feet on their necks.
