So they sought for a lovely young woman throughout all the territory of Israel, and found Abishag the Shunammite, and brought her to the king.

Therefore his servants said to him, “Let a young woman, a virgin, be sought for our lord the king, and let her stand before the king, and let her care for him; and let her lie in your bosom, that our lord the king may be warm.”

The young woman was very lovely; and she cared for the king, and served him; but the king did not know her.

And so she departed, and went to the man of God at Mount Carmel. So it was, when the man of God saw her afar off, that he said to his servant Gehazi, “Look, the Shunammite woman!

Now it happened one day that Elisha went to Shunem, where there was a notable woman, and she persuaded him to eat some food. So it was, as often as he passed by, he would turn in there to eat some food.

Then the king’s servants who attended him said: “Let beautiful young virgins be sought for the king;

Then let the young woman who pleases the king be queen instead of Vashti.” This thing pleased the king, and he did so.

And their territory went to Jezreel, and included Chesulloth, Shunem,

Then the Philistines gathered together, and came and encamped at Shunem. So Saul gathered all Israel together, and they encamped at Gilboa.
