“You are my war club, my weapon for battle— with you I shatter nations, with you I destroy kingdoms,

I will take away the chariots from Ephraim and the warhorses from Jerusalem, and the battle bow will be broken. He will proclaim peace to the nations. His rule will extend from sea to sea and from the River to the ends of the earth.

But I will encamp at my temple to guard it against marauding forces. Never again will an oppressor overrun my people, for now I am keeping watch.

“I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth.

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”

Jesus looked directly at them and asked, “Then what is the meaning of that which is written: “ ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone’ ?

built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.

No one serving as a soldier gets entangled in civilian affairs, but rather tries to please his commanding officer.
