For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Abraham planted a tamarisk tree in Beersheba, and there he called on the name of the Lord, the Eternal God.

He set the earth on its foundations; it can never be moved.

When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Hear this, you foolish and senseless people, who have eyes but do not see, who have ears but do not hear:

“He made the earth by his power; he founded the world by his wisdom and stretched out the heavens by his understanding.

that you may be children of your Father in heaven. He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

“But at the beginning of creation God ‘made them male and female.’

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God and is in closest relationship with the Father, has made him known.

If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin; but now they have no excuse for their sin.

“Therefore since we are God’s offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or silver or stone—an image made by human design and skill.

“Brothers and fathers, listen now to my defense.”

since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them.

but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith—

You, therefore, have no excuse, you who pass judgment on someone else, for at whatever point you judge another, you are condemning yourself, because you who pass judgment do the same things.

They show that the requirements of the law are written on their hearts, their consciences also bearing witness, and their thoughts sometimes accusing them and at other times even defending them.)

Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemies before you, saying, ‘Destroy them!’

And when you look up to the sky and see the sun, the moon and the stars—all the heavenly array—do not be enticed into bowing down to them and worshiping things the Lord your God has apportioned to all the nations under heaven.

The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

who alone is immortal and who lives in unapproachable light, whom no one has seen or can see. To him be honor and might forever. Amen.

By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible.

How much more, then, will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself unblemished to God, cleanse our consciences from acts that lead to death, so that we may serve the living God!
