These days should be remembered and observed in every generation by every family, and in every province and in every city. And these days of Purim should never fail to be celebrated by the Jews—nor should the memory of these days die out among their descendants.

Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet created may praise the Lord:

One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.

They will proclaim his righteousness, declaring to a people yet unborn: He has done it!

consider well her ramparts, view her citadels, that you may tell of them to the next generation.

Even when I am old and gray, do not forsake me, my God, till I declare your power to the next generation, your mighty acts to all who are to come.

May your deeds be shown to your servants, your splendor to their children.

that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord.”

Tell it to your children, and let your children tell it to their children, and their children to the next generation.

Remember the day you stood before the Lord your God at Horeb, when he said to me, “Assemble the people before me to hear my words so that they may learn to revere me as long as they live in the land and may teach them to their children.”
