As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.

I open my mouth and pant, longing for your commands.

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.

God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.

You, Lord, showed favor to your land; you restored the fortunes of Jacob.

My heart is stirred by a noble theme as I recite my verses for the king; my tongue is the pen of a skillful writer.

Clap your hands, all you nations; shout to God with cries of joy.

The sons of Korah were: Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans.

The descendants of Kohath: Amminadab his son, Korah his son, Assir his son,

He has founded his city on the holy mountain.

Lord, you are the God who saves me; day and night I cry out to you.
