Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

They were helped in fighting them, and God delivered the Hagrites and all their allies into their hands, because they cried out to him during the battle. He answered their prayers, because they trusted in him.

Early in the morning they left for the Desert of Tekoa. As they set out, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Listen to me, Judah and people of Jerusalem! Have faith in the Lord your God and you will be upheld; have faith in his prophets and you will be successful.”

I call on the Lord in my distress, and he answers me.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from?

I rejoiced with those who said to me, “Let us go to the house of the Lord.”

I lift up my eyes to you, to you who sit enthroned in heaven.

If the Lord had not been on our side— let Israel say—

the Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.

They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm.

I trust in you; do not let me be put to shame, nor let my enemies triumph over me.

Good and upright is the Lord; therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.

The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?

The Lord will rescue his servants; no one who takes refuge in him will be condemned.

God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.

Nations are in uproar, kingdoms fall; he lifts his voice, the earth melts.

Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.

How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence?

Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.

My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.

When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever.

Shout aloud and sing for joy, people of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel among you.”

What answer shall be given to the envoys of that nation? “The Lord has established Zion, and in her his afflicted people will find refuge.”

You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord, the Lord himself, is the Rock eternal.

Those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away.

I have put my words in your mouth and covered you with the shadow of my hand— I who set the heavens in place, who laid the foundations of the earth, and who say to Zion, ‘You are my people.’ ”

For the moth will eat them up like a garment; the worm will devour them like wool. But my righteousness will last forever, my salvation through all generations.”

Awake, awake, Zion, clothe yourself with strength! Put on your garments of splendor, Jerusalem, the holy city. The uncircumcised and defiled will not enter you again.

Deliverers will go up on Mount Zion to govern the mountains of Esau. And the kingdom will be the Lord’s.

Many nations will come and say, “Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths.” The law will go out from Zion, the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.

Then the angel who was speaking to me said, “Proclaim this word: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘I am very jealous for Jerusalem and Zion,

“Proclaim further: This is what the Lord Almighty says: ‘My towns will again overflow with prosperity, and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.’ ”

Through him you believe in God, who raised him from the dead and glorified him, and so your faith and hope are in God.

Then I looked, and there before me was the Lamb, standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who had his name and his Father’s name written on their foreheads.
