Humility is the fear of the Lord; its wages are riches and honor and life.

The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.

Whoever pursues righteousness and love finds life, prosperity and honor.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
