A wise son heeds his father’s instruction, but a mocker does not respond to rebukes.

If one person sins against another, God may mediate for the offender; but if anyone sins against the Lord, who will intercede for them?” His sons, however, did not listen to their father’s rebuke, for it was the Lord’s will to put them to death.

The mocker seeks wisdom and finds none, but knowledge comes easily to the discerning.

Mockers resent correction, so they avoid the wise.

In everything he followed the ways of his father Asa and did not stray from them; he did what was right in the eyes of the Lord. The high places, however, were not removed, and the people continued to offer sacrifices and burn incense there.

Now then, my sons, listen to me; pay attention to what I say.

The way of fools seems right to them, but the wise listen to advice.
