Just as the king returned from the palace garden to the banquet hall, Haman was falling on the couch where Esther was reclining. The king exclaimed, “Will he even molest the queen while she is with me in the house?” As soon as the word left the king’s mouth, they covered Haman’s face.

The one who was dying blessed me; I made the widow’s heart sing.

The upright see and rejoice, but all the wicked shut their mouths.

The mouth of the righteous is a fountain of life, but the mouth of the wicked conceals violence.

He who gathers crops in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps during harvest is a disgraceful son.

People curse the one who hoards grain, but they pray God’s blessing on the one who is willing to sell.

But it will go well with those who convict the guilty, and rich blessing will come on them.

A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.

The Lord’s curse is on the house of the wicked, but he blesses the home of the righteous.

Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will enjoy the fruit of their deeds.

Because of the violence against your brother Jacob, you will be covered with shame; you will be destroyed forever.

Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, so that every mouth may be silenced and the whole world held accountable to God.

All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:
