Paul replied, “Short time or long—I pray to God that not only you but all who are listening to me today may become what I am, except for these chains.”

After they left the room, they began saying to one another, “This man is not doing anything that deserves death or imprisonment.”

As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received.

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me.

All God’s people here send you greetings, especially those who belong to Caesar’s household.

for which I am suffering even to the point of being chained like a criminal. But God’s word is not chained.
