I will listen to what God the Lord says; he promises peace to his people, his faithful servants— but let them not turn to folly.

So Moses brought their case before the Lord,

For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread,

My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent. It is the Lord who judges me.

For I have not hesitated to proclaim to you the whole will of God.

For I gave them the words you gave me and they accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from you, and they believed that you sent me.

Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

“Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the people of Israel; so hear the word I speak and give them warning from me.

You must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious.

The Lord confides in those who fear him; he makes his covenant known to them.

You will not have to fight this battle. Take up your positions; stand firm and see the deliverance the Lord will give you, Judah and Jerusalem. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged. Go out to face them tomorrow, and the Lord will be with you.’ ”

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.

Moses answered him, “Because the people come to me to seek God’s will.

and said to Moses, “We have become unclean because of a dead body, but why should we be kept from presenting the Lord’s offering with the other Israelites at the appointed time?”

Then the Lord said to Moses,

and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him.

They put him in custody until the will of the Lord should be made clear to them.
