“Then the Levites are to lay their hands on the heads of the bulls, using one for a sin offering to the Lord and the other for a burnt offering, to make atonement for the Levites.

He is to present the bull at the entrance to the tent of meeting before the Lord. He is to lay his hand on its head and slaughter it there before the Lord.

“ ‘Anyone who cannot afford a lamb is to bring two doves or two young pigeons to the Lord as a penalty for their sin—one for a sin offering and the other for a burnt offering.

He then presented the bull for the sin offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

Moses slaughtered the bull and took some of the blood, and with his finger he put it on all the horns of the altar to purify the altar. He poured out the rest of the blood at the base of the altar. So he consecrated it to make atonement for it.

He then presented the ram for the burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on its head.

What has been done today was commanded by the Lord to make atonement for you.

Moses said to Aaron, “Come to the altar and sacrifice your sin offering and your burnt offering and make atonement for yourself and the people; sacrifice the offering that is for the people and make atonement for them, as the Lord has commanded.”

There they are to present their offerings to the Lord: a year-old male lamb without defect for a burnt offering, a year-old ewe lamb without defect for a sin offering, a ram without defect for a fellowship offering,

“ ‘The priest is to present all these before the Lord and make the sin offering and the burnt offering.

Have the Levites stand in front of Aaron and his sons and then present them as a wave offering to the Lord.

Have them take a young bull with its grain offering of the finest flour mixed with olive oil; then you are to take a second young bull for a sin offering.

In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness.
