The mountains melt beneath him and the valleys split apart, like wax before the fire, like water rushing down a slope.

I looked at the mountains, and they were quaking; all the hills were swaying.

See, the Lord is going to lay waste the earth and devastate it; he will ruin its face and scatter its inhabitants—

The earth reels like a drunkard, it sways like a hut in the wind; so heavy upon it is the guilt of its rebellion that it falls—never to rise again.

Before them the earth shakes, the heavens tremble, the sun and moon are darkened, and the stars no longer shine.

“What are you, mighty mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become level ground. Then he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘God bless it! God bless it!’ ”

“Surely the day is coming; it will burn like a furnace. All the arrogant and every evildoer will be stubble, and the day that is coming will set them on fire,” says the Lord Almighty. “Not a root or a branch will be left to them.

He moves mountains without their knowing it and overturns them in his anger.

The pillars of the heavens quake, aghast at his rebuke.

Smoke rose from his nostrils; consuming fire came from his mouth, burning coals blazed out of it.

he who looks at the earth, and it trembles, who touches the mountains, and they smoke.

But the Lord is the true God; he is the living God, the eternal King. When he is angry, the earth trembles; the nations cannot endure his wrath.

The fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the beasts of the field, every creature that moves along the ground, and all the people on the face of the earth will tremble at my presence. The mountains will be overturned, the cliffs will crumble and every wall will fall to the ground.

The Lord, the Lord Almighty— he touches the earth and it melts, and all who live in it mourn; the whole land rises like the Nile, then sinks like the river of Egypt;
