With what shall I come before the Lord and bow down before the exalted God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old?

When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

“Your Majesty, the Most High God gave your father Nebuchadnezzar sovereignty and greatness and glory and splendor.

I said, “Belteshazzar, chief of the magicians, I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in you, and no mystery is too difficult for you. Here is my dream; interpret it for me.

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker;

All the rich of the earth will feast and worship; all who go down to the dust will kneel before him— those who cannot keep themselves alive.

David asked the Gibeonites, “What shall I do for you? How shall I make atonement so that you will bless the Lord’s inheritance?”

The animals you choose must be year-old males without defect, and you may take them from the sheep or the goats.

What shall I return to the Lord for all his goodness to me?

The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

To do what is right and just is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.
