Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.

But seek his kingdom, and these things will be given to you as well.

Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.”

Since they did not know the righteousness of God and sought to establish their own, they did not submit to God’s righteousness.

For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit,

What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God—that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas or the world or life or death or the present or the future—all are yours,

God made him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ—the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

All this is evidence that God’s judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering.

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
