Matthew 4:18

New International Version

As Jesus was walking beside the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon called Peter and his brother Andrew. They were casting a net into the lake, for they were fishermen.

These are the names of the twelve apostles: first, Simon (who is called Peter) and his brother Andrew; James son of Zebedee, and his brother John;

Simon (whom he named Peter), his brother Andrew, James, John, Philip, Bartholomew,

And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.

Jesus left there and went along the Sea of Galilee. Then he went up on a mountainside and sat down.

The boundary will go down from Shepham to Riblah on the east side of Ain and continue along the slopes east of the Sea of Galilee.

So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt.”

Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the wilderness and came to Horeb, the mountain of God.

Fishermen will stand along the shore; from En Gedi to En Eglaim there will be places for spreading nets. The fish will be of many kinds—like the fish of the Mediterranean Sea.

“Come, follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
