Her ways are pleasant ways, and all her paths are peace.

He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.

At that time Jesus went through the grainfields on the Sabbath. His disciples were hungry and began to pick some heads of grain and eat them.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

Now then, why do you try to test God by putting on the necks of Gentiles a yoke that neither we nor our ancestors have been able to bear?

It seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us not to burden you with anything beyond the following requirements:

For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

I can do all this through him who gives me strength.

In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome,
