Returning the third time, he said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Enough! The hour has come. Look, the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners.

At this they tried to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him, because his hour had not yet come.

While they were reclining at the table eating, he said, “Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me—one who is eating with me.”

Then Judas Iscariot, one of the Twelve, went to the chief priests to betray Jesus to them.

And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!

“As you know, the Passover is two days away—and the Son of Man will be handed over to be crucified.”

“ ‘As for you, people of Israel, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: Go and serve your idols, every one of you! But afterward you will surely listen to me and no longer profane my holy name with your gifts and idols.

You who are young, be happy while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever your eyes see, but know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.

Elisha said to the king of Israel, “Why do you want to involve me? Go to the prophets of your father and the prophets of your mother.” “No,” the king of Israel answered, “because it was the Lord who called us three kings together to deliver us into the hands of Moab.”

When he arrived, the king asked him, “Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or not?” “Attack and be victorious,” he answered, “for the Lord will give it into the king’s hand.”

At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

Go and cry out to the gods you have chosen. Let them save you when you are in trouble!”

When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. They did not know what to say to him.

Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
