What more could have been done for my vineyard than I have done for it? When I looked for good grapes, why did it yield only bad?

Perhaps when the people of Judah hear about every disaster I plan to inflict on them, they will each turn from their wicked ways; then I will forgive their wickedness and their sin.”

Perhaps they will bring their petition before the Lord and will each turn from their wicked ways, for the anger and wrath pronounced against this people by the Lord are great.”

He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who neither feared God nor cared what people thought.

“For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear God or care what people think,

He sent still a third, and they wounded him and threw him out.

“But when the tenants saw him, they talked the matter over. ‘This is the heir,’ they said. ‘Let’s kill him, and the inheritance will be ours.’

A voice came from the cloud, saying, “This is my Son, whom I have chosen; listen to him.”

I have seen and I testify that this is God’s Chosen One.”

For what the law was powerless to do because it was weakened by the flesh, God did by sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh to be a sin offering. And so he condemned sin in the flesh,

But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
