It is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another.

Many seek an audience with a ruler, but it is from the Lord that one gets justice.

When times are good, be happy; but when times are bad, consider this: God has made the one as well as the other. Therefore, no one can discover anything about their future.

I form the light and create darkness, I bring prosperity and create disaster; I, the Lord, do all these things.

“This is what the Lord says: As I have brought all this great calamity on this people, so I will give them all the prosperity I have promised them.

When a trumpet sounds in a city, do not the people tremble? When disaster comes to a city, has not the Lord caused it?
