Moses said to the Lord, “Then the Egyptians will hear about it! By your power you brought these people up from among them.

Father, glorify your name!” Then a voice came from heaven, “I have glorified it, and will glorify it again.”

Otherwise, the country from which you brought us will say, ‘Because the Lord was not able to take them into the land he had promised them, and because he hated them, he brought them out to put them to death in the wilderness.’

The Lord said to Joshua, “Stand up! What are you doing down on your face?

Pardon your servant, Lord. What can I say, now that Israel has been routed by its enemies?

For the sake of his great name the Lord will not reject his people, because the Lord was pleased to make you his own.
