But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!”
So this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone, a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation; the one who relies on it will never be stricken with panic.
He will not shout or cry out, or raise his voice in the streets.
He will not quarrel or cry out; no one will hear his voice in the streets.
I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
So he had the ark of the Lord carried around the city, circling it once. Then the army returned to camp and spent the night there.
The armed guard marched ahead of the priests who blew the trumpets, and the rear guard followed the ark. All this time the trumpets were sounding.
