Once more he visited Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. And there was a certain royal official whose son lay sick at Capernaum.

because his only daughter, a girl of about twelve, was dying. As Jesus was on his way, the crowds almost crushed him.

There a centurion’s servant, whom his master valued highly, was sick and about to die.

A Canaanite woman from that vicinity came to him, crying out, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on me! My daughter is demon-possessed and suffering terribly.”

While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”

Simon Peter, Thomas (also known as Didymus), Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples were together.

Whenever God slew them, they would seek him; they eagerly turned to him again.

It went to Abdon, Rehob, Hammon and Kanah, as far as Greater Sidon.

Leaving Nazareth, he went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake in the area of Zebulun and Naphtali—

Jesus said to them, “Surely you will quote this proverb to me: ‘Physician, heal yourself!’ And you will tell me, ‘Do here in your hometown what we have heard that you did in Capernaum.’ ”

After this he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.
