“Now what have you against me, Tyre and Sidon and all you regions of Philistia? Are you repaying me for something I have done? If you are paying me back, I will swiftly and speedily return on your own heads what you have done.

The Lord aroused against Jehoram the hostility of the Philistines and of the Arabs who lived near the Cushites.

Do not rejoice, all you Philistines, that the rod that struck you is broken; from the root of that snake will spring up a viper, its fruit will be a darting, venomous serpent.

For the Lord has a day of vengeance, a year of retribution, to uphold Zion’s cause.

But it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon at the judgment than for you.

And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off?

He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

It is mine to avenge; I will repay. In due time their foot will slip; their day of disaster is near and their doom rushes upon them.”

God is just: He will pay back trouble to those who trouble you

Then Jephthah sent messengers to the Ammonite king with the question: “What do you have against me that you have attacked my country?”
