What will you do on the day of your appointed festivals, on the feast days of the Lord?

The best of them is like a brier, the most upright worse than a thorn hedge. The day God visits you has come, the day your watchmen sound the alarm. Now is the time of your confusion.

The bed is too short to stretch out on, the blanket too narrow to wrap around you.

It will be as though a man fled from a lion only to meet a bear, as though he entered his house and rested his hand on the wall only to have a snake bite him.
