“Judah, your brothers will praise you; your hand will be on the neck of your enemies; your father’s sons will bow down to you.

She conceived again, and when she gave birth to a son she said, “This time I will praise the Lord.” So she named him Judah. Then she stopped having children.

The number from the tribe of Judah was 74,600.

The divisions of the camp of Judah went first, under their standard. Nahshon son of Amminadab was in command.

The descendants of Judah by their clans were: through Shelah, the Shelanite clan; through Perez, the Perezite clan; through Zerah, the Zerahite clan.

These were the clans of Judah; those numbered were 76,500.

And this he said about Judah: “Hear, Lord, the cry of Judah; bring him to his people. With his own hands he defends his cause. Oh, be his help against his foes!”

and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool.

For it is clear that our Lord descended from Judah, and in regard to that tribe Moses said nothing about priests.

When they had brought these kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had come with him, “Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came forward and placed their feet on their necks.

This is the inheritance of the tribe of Judah, according to its clans:

The seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Then one of the elders said to me, “Do not weep! See, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David, has triumphed. He is able to open the scroll and its seven seals.”

The Israelites went up to Bethel and inquired of God. They said, “Who of us is to go up first to fight against the Benjamites?” The Lord replied, “Judah shall go first.”
