Lord, I love the house where you live, the place where your glory dwells.

One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.

Outside the town, measure two thousand cubits on the east side, two thousand on the south side, two thousand on the west and two thousand on the north, with the town in the center. They will have this area as pastureland for the towns.

Offer them only at the place the Lord will choose in one of your tribes, and there observe everything I command you.

But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name there for his dwelling. To that place you must go;

Sacrifice as the Passover to the Lord your God an animal from your flock or herd at the place the Lord will choose as a dwelling for his Name.

he may minister in the name of the Lord his God like all his fellow Levites who serve there in the presence of the Lord.

Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task.

Be shepherds of God’s flock that is under your care, watching over them—not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve;
