Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the Lord.

I will praise you as long as I live, and in your name I will lift up my hands.

let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.

This is a trustworthy saying. And I want you to stress these things, so that those who have trusted in God may be careful to devote themselves to doing what is good. These things are excellent and profitable for everyone.

The Lord detests the sacrifice of the wicked, but the prayer of the upright pleases him.

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.

The Lord’s message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia—your faith in God has become known everywhere. Therefore we do not need to say anything about it,
