“So give orders that cedars of Lebanon be cut for me. My men will work with yours, and I will pay you for your men whatever wages you set. You know that we have no one so skilled in felling timber as the Sidonians.”

Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.

I told them, “If you think it best, give me my pay; but if not, keep it.” So they paid me thirty pieces of silver.

Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone.

But to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.

The king, moreover, must not acquire great numbers of horses for himself or make the people return to Egypt to get more of them, for the Lord has told you, “You are not to go back that way again.”

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
