But seat two scoundrels opposite him and have them bring charges that he has cursed both God and the king. Then take him out and stone him to death.”

They proclaimed a fast and seated Naboth in a prominent place among the people.

But they plotted against him, and by order of the king they stoned him to death in the courtyard of the Lord’s temple.

Now, Your Majesty, come down whenever it pleases you to do so, and we will be responsible for giving him into your hands.”
